Selena's mother was just 16 when Selena first came to the scene. When she was nine, Selena got her first job on stage after being cast in the role of Gianna on Barney and her Friends. This was when she became one of the kids who performed with the most well-known historical anthropomorphic dinosaur, the purple one. Selena performed for many seasons of season 7 and 8 between 2001 to 2003. Selena was not the only performer on Barney And His Friends - Demi was also part of the show at the period. Following the end of the show, Selena Gomez auditioned for several roles on other shows and movies, but she was not very successful. Her role was a little smaller on Mini Spies 3 (Spy Kids 3D Game Over) in 2003. She also had one more as Julie in Walker Texas Ranger Trial by Fire.
